Trupa de melodic power metal Kamelot va incepe turneul nord american in cateva zile dar a trebui sa gaseasca alt solist pentru aceasta perioada din cauza unei boli, inca nediagnosticate a lui Roy.
Trupa a emis urmatorul comunicat:
“The band and crew are all here in Tampa rehearsing for the tour — visas have been cleared and the guys are in good spirits and ready to party with all of you. However, during rehearsals, Roy [Khan; full name: Roy Sætre Khantatat] became severely ill. Due to this, as yet undiagnosed, illness, Roy reluctantly has been forced to head back home to Norway. He is currently under his physician’s care, but, unfortunately, these circumstances will prevent him from joining us on the North American concert tour. Of course, we want Roy to take care of his health as priority one for now and for the future.
“After much consideration on how to proceed, all of us in KAMELOT feel strongly about keeping our commitment to our fans, promoters, and support bands on this tour! We are all ready and excited about playing these shows, we have flown in people from around the world to be apart of it and it has been in the works over a year! Therefore, we are working diligently with a fantastic singer willing to step in at the eleventh hour in order to make this tour a reality — our good friend Michael [Eriksen; pictured below] from CIRCUS MAXIMUS (Norway) has agreed to fill in forRoy! And we are excited to announce a special guest: Swedish vocalistElize Ryd from AMARANTHE will be joining the band on the North American tour. She will also be part of the VIP meet-and-greet! Elizetoured with us on our Summer Pandemonium Tour and also the European tour earlier this spring.

Elize Ryd va insoti trupa Kamelot in cadrul turneului nord american. Formatia a declarat:
” Suntem fericiti sa va anuntam ca vocalista formatiei suedeze Amaranthe, Elize Ryd, va insoti trupa in cadrul acestui turneu. Ea va face parte, de asemena, la intalnirile “meet and greet”. Elize a concertat impreuna cu Kamelot in cadrul turneului european din aceasta primavara. Formatia Amaranthe a semnat, recent, cu casa de productie Spinefarm/Universal.”

Kamelot posteaza fragmente din noul album

Fragmente de melodii de pe albumul “Poetry for the Poisoned”, insumand 3 minute jumatate, pot fi descarcate de pe pagina myspace a formatiei americane/norvegiene.
Mult anticipatul material va fi lansat pe 14 septembrie in America de Nord sub egida propriei care de productie Kamelot Media Group (KMG Recordings) iar in Europa lansarea va fi pe 10 septembrie sub marca earMUSIC/Edel. In Japonia Marquee/Avalon Records va face disponibil materialul.
Reputatia Kamelot in randul fanilor si media este marcata de entuziasm si apreciere. Acestea sunt cauzate de calitatea superioara a versurilor si a compozitiei albumelor precedente, fiecare dintre ele depasindu l pe cel anterior. Kamelot, una dintre formatiile greu de catalogat din aria metal, va lansa cel mai ambitios proiect de pana acum initulat “Poetry for the Poisoned”.
De a lungul anilor, discurile Kamelot au devenit cult in toata lumea. Un comunicat de presa preciza:
“Poetry for the Poisoned va stabili noi standarde pentru viitoarele albume. Noul material imbina elementele cheie Kamelot cu cele noi creeand o muzica artistica, care va stabili noi standarde in aria muzicala.”
Albumul a fost scris aproape in intregime in padurile din Norvegia si Germania. Compozitiile vor trece ascultatorul prin multe stari si dinamici ale sufletului si mintii. Chitaristul Thomas Youngblood declara:
” Acest material este printre cele mai diverse create, ca sunet si stil. Inregistrarile s au facut la studioul Gate Studios din Wolfsburg Germania cu producatorii Sascha Paeth si Miro. Piese aditionale au fost inregistrate in Tampa Florida, Suedia si Grecia.”
Invitatii speciali de pe album sunt: Simone Simons (EPICA), Gus G. (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIREWIND), Björn “Speed” Strid (SOILWORK) si Jon Oliva (SAVATAGE, JON OLIVA’S PAIN). Coperta a fost realizata de mai multi artisti: Seth Siro Anton, Natalie Shau si Michal Loranc.
Youngblood adauga ” Poetry for the Poisoned este o mixtura de elemente progresive, rock modern, arta intunecata si Power Metal. Va fi lansat intr o perioada cand multe persoane de pe glob cauta ceva spiritual…inclusiv eu. Recent mi a murit mama si a fost foarte greu pentru mine. Asa ca albumul contine si cateva tente melancolice.”
Vocalistul trupei, Roy Khan, asigura ca albumul va fi pe placul fanilor vechi dar va atrage si multi ascultatori noi. ” Poetry for the Poisoned este produsul cel mai lucrat si greu de pana acum, dar ascultandu l realizez ca toata munca s a meritat.”

Kamelot este o trupa de melodic power metal din USA ce incorporeaza elemente de progresiv si simfonic, formata in 1991 in Tampa, Florida. Trupa a fost infiintata la initiativa chitaristului Thomas Youngblood si a tobosarului Richard Warner.
In 1994 au semnat cu casa de discuri ‘Noise Records’ urmand ca anul viitor sa isi lanseze albumul de debut ‘Eternity’. Al doilea album ‘Dominion’ a fost lansat in 1997. In 1997 au fost inlocuiti Richard Warner si Mark Vanderbilt cu Casey Grillo si Roy Khan. In noua formula, Kamelot a lansat al treilea album de studio ‘Siege Perilous’. A urmat un lung turneu in Europa dupa care au intrat in studiou pentru a produce urmatorul album ‘The Fourth Legacy’
In vara anului 2000, au sustinut turneul ‘ New Allegiance Tour’ prin Europa in cadrul caruia au inregistrat si primul album live: ‘The Expedition’. Al cincilea album de studio “Karma” si cel mai apreciat a urmat imediat dupa turneu. Urmatoarele 2 albume: ‘Epica’ si ‘The Black Halo’ sunt inspirate din versiunea scrisa de Johann Wolfang von Goethe’s a legendei lui Faust.
Trupa a crescut in popularitate, ajungand ca al saptelea album de studio ‘Ghost Opera’ sa aiba parte de 4 videoclipuri. Pentru a lucra la noul album, ‘Poetry For the Poisoned’ Kamelot au mers in o cabana din Norvegia si urmeaza a fi lansat in septembrie anul acesta
